Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Zachary Lo (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the ReSnapt mobile application (the “App”) and the related website at resnapt.app (together, the “Service”). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please keep your password confidential and notify us promptly at support@resnapt.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or infringe anyone else’s rights;
- Upload receipts or content you do not have the right to process (for example, other people’s receipts without their consent);
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App, except to the extent that law expressly permits it;
- Use the Service to store content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringes intellectual property rights;
- Interfere with the Service’s operation, probe for vulnerabilities, or use automated means to scrape data without our written permission.
4. Your content
You own the receipts, images, expenses, categories, and other content you create in the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, store, transmit, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate the Service for you (for example, to run OCR, to sync between your devices, to let you export CSV/ZIP backups). This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account.
5. OCR accuracy disclaimer
The Service uses optical character recognition and machine-learning models to extract data from receipts. Results may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing all extracted data before relying on it for tax filing, reimbursement, accounting, or any other purpose. We make no warranty that OCR output will be complete or error-free.
6. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties listed in our Privacy Policy, including Supabase, Cloudflare, OpenRouter, Apple, and Google. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies.
7. Fees
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid features or plans in the future. We will give you notice before charging you, and your continued use of paid features will be subject to the applicable subscription terms.
8. Intellectual property
Apart from Your Content, the Service (including its code, design, trademarks, and logos) is owned by Zachary Lo or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right in our intellectual property except the limited right to use the App as described here.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from Settings › Delete Account inside the App. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, sections 4 (the licence you grant survives only for content we are legally required to retain), 5, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 survive.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Zachary Lo AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $20 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Zachary Lo against any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and you consent to that jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect its intellectual property.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, give you additional notice inside the App. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
15. App Store terms
You acknowledge that Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. These Terms do not limit Apple’s rights under its own App Store terms.
